Adelaide Fringe can provide support and guidance throughout your visa application process. Once your event is fully registered and you have identified that you need assistance, we will be in contact with you to provide you with resources necessary to complete your application including a Letter of Support. For Adelaide Fringe to provide support, you will need to intend to stay in Australia for less than 3 months.

If successful, the visa application fee will be able to waived for the applicant.

Who needs a Visa? 

All international visitors wishing to work on live productions as a performer, production or support staff will need the 407 temporary activity visa.

 

New Zealand citizens
New Zealand citizens can work in Australia without applying for a visa in advance.You will be eligible for a Special Category Visa (subclass 444) which is granted on arrival when you travel on a valid New Zealand passport. What Visa do I need?

The visa required to perform in the Adelaide Fringe festival is the Temporary Activity visa (subclass 408) - Entertainment Activities stream. For Adelaide Fringe to provide support, you will need to intend to stay in Australia for less than 3 months. For eligibility and other further information, please refer to the Home Affairs website. 

With this visa, you can work in the entertainment industry in Australia as a performer, production or support staff.

Please note that this document is a guide only, Adelaide Fringe will not be held liable should your visa application be unsuccessful. Remember to always check the Department of Home Affairs – Immigration and Citizenship website for up to date information.

How can Adelaide Fringe Support?

Adelaide Fringe can be a supporter of your visa application if you intend to stay in Australia for less than 3 months. We can provide you with a letter of support, as well as a Proof of Charity decaration. If you need a letter of support, please fill out this form, and we will email you through the necessary documents. 

Please note that Adelaide Fringe is unable to provide Visa Sponsorship . If you intend to stay longer than 3 months or are already in the country and applying for a 408 Visa, you will need to get in touch with a Migration Agent for advice. Adelaide Fringe recommends Migration Solutions.

Letter of Support and Charity Status

To complete your Visa application you will need to provide a Letter of Support (LOS) from Adelaide Fringe. Please fill in the below form so we can prepare your document. Please provide the correct details as they appear in your passport and visa application. https://forms.gle/CuLVSXbNEg4v1GhWA

Our visa coordinator will prepare the document and provide you with the LOS. Once you recieve your personalised Letter of Support, you will attach it in your supporting evidence section. 

You will also need to attach the Adelaide Fringe Festival confirmation of charity status. The Adelaide Fringe ACNC Charity Register will also be needed to be added to the supporting evidence at the end of your registraton.

Visa Application Charge

If successful and eligble, your visa application fee will be able to waived for the applicant. To apply for the Visa Application Charge Concession do the following in the Charges section:

Is the applicant eligible for a visa Application Charge (VAC) Concession?: Select Yes
Give details: Adelaide Fringe is a registered ACNC charity
Select the eligible VAC: Nil VAC

The Charity status will also be needed to be added to the supporting evidence at the end of your registration.

How To Apply

All participants will need to complete their own Visa application through the Department of Home Affairs online portal - by creating an Immi Account https://online.immi.gov.au/lusc/login
