Church of the Epiphany, Crafers
Church of the Epiphany, Crafers
Adelaide Hills
About this space
This beautiful church built in 1859 is home to an active community and warmly welcomes all people. We've been a strong supporter of the arts for many generations. It houses a Knud Smenge 22-pipe organ and it was steered by the Crafers Organ and Choral Music Society, who brought to Adelaide outstanding musical events including a series of Prom Concerts in the Adelaide Town Hall. The current Director of Music, Alex Roose, confirms this is a perfect acoustic venue, we attribute it to the design of the arches and transepts along with the wooden floor. The church is still an active Christian worship community, presenting a choir comprised of volunteers once a month. For Adelaide Fringe 2024 we had a sold out venue for Arbor Wind Ensemble performing Dvořák. Silk Strings showcasing folk instruments was invited to perform in a later show with the Adelaide Cantonese Opera, and our opening show was with wonderful soloist Mari Trees performing Her Story - of the blues.
