The Adelaide Fringe Passion Pitch is a fantastic opportunity for artists to showcase their work virtually to our Honey Pot delegates. Think of it as your very own pre-recorded elevator pitch, designed to grab attention and highlight your show's potential. If you're a Honey Pot artist, you can create a 90-second video pitching your show. These pitches are then compiled into genre-specific videos and made available on the Honey Pot landing page for delegates to review before and during the festival.

What is Passion Pitch?
Passion Pitch is a virtual pitching opportunity exclusively for Honey Pot artists. It allows you to create a short, 90-second video to present your show directly to delegates. These pitches are compiled by genre, making it easy for delegates to discover new and exciting works. They are hosted on the Honey Pot section of the Adelaide Fringe's Artist and Venue Register (AVR) for delegates to view at their convenience leading up to and throughout the festival.
Key Dates for Passion Pitch Submissions
- November: You can start sending us your videos for compilation from this month.
- January: This is the deadline to submit your Passion Pitch video for compilation.
Don't worry if you miss the deadline for the compiled videos! You can still host your Passion Pitch video on your Show Finder profile page at any time. If your video is ready now, feel free to add it to your Show Finder page immediately.
Crafting Your Passion Pitch
Make your pitch short, sharp, and shiny! This is your chance for delegates to see the face(s) behind the show. They want to see your personality and your passion for the project. You know your show's worth, but do they?
What to include in your 90-second video:
- Who you are: Your name and company.
- What your show is about: Your show's name and a brief description.
- Why this work is important to you: Explain its significance to your artistic practice and why delegates should see it. Talk about the value of your work.
- What opportunities you are looking for: For example, touring (regional, national, international), a producer, industry advice and support, etc.
- A short promo video or image(s) (optional): If you have existing visual content, this can enhance your pitch.
The total pitch length, including any promotional videos or images, must not exceed 90 seconds. We'll include links to your Show Finder profile in the video description so delegates can easily discover more about your show. Please note: Pitches should be filmed in landscape orientation.
Top tips to create your pitch:
- Don’t rush and speak clearly. This demonstrates confidence and competency.
-
Script it out:
- Write down all your ideas.
- Remove unnecessary details. Sharpen your sentences into quick, powerful points.
- Review and ask yourself: "Have I hit all the key points?"
- Polish and practice your speech. Try practicing on a friend who doesn’t know your show.
Believe it or not, 90 seconds is actually a long time! Being able to hit key points and capture the essence of your show in this way will also make your life easier when attending HIVEs.

Please note: Pitches come in varying styles and quality. From those recorded on a phone in the bedroom to edited and scripted multimedia pieces – make and deliver whatever you feel comfortable doing. Just make it succinct and passionate.
