Description
We live in a 100 year old home, in the beautiful leafy suburb of West Croydon. We are a 3 minute walk to the closest train, with trains every 15 minutes to the cbd, 4 stops. Or if you have a bicycle, we are very close to the bikeway direct to the CBD. If you jump on the train in the other direction, it can take you to walking distance of 2 of Adelaide's nicest beaches. Your bright, spacious, air conditioned room is upstairs, with a powder room next to it. (shared with the other bedroom) . It has a king single bed, plenty of wardrobe space, mini fridge and desk. You can lock it from the inside. (It would be possible to have a second bed assembled, if you are travelling with a friend.) The guest bathroom is downstairs, with a shower over the claw foot bath. This is "almost" entirely private, as we only use it in case of emergency. We have a large open kitchen/family/dining room- you are welcome to cook your own meals, but are required to clean up after yourself. Joining us for meals is an option, at an additional fee. You may not be aware, that much of Australia, and South Australia in particular, is in drought , and as such, we are very water conscious. Showers are to be kept short (10minutes). (This is non-negotiable, as we try to be as environmentally responsible as we can be.) We are also a "no (outdoor shoes) worn in the house" home. So bring your slippers, thongs or crocs! We are a "normal family" , so sometimes there may be little bit of mess or clutter or morning chaos.

About You
Hi. We are a family of 3 adults, (we also have an adult daughter who lives in Melbourne), 1 dog and 1 cat. The cat is strictly indoors, and the dog is in and out. They are NOT allowed in the bedrooms, but will try to convince you otherwise. We all work, fulltime, partime and casual, so someone is generally always close by, if you need help with directions or info about local things. I have Dutch heritage, so speak and understand "een klein beetje". We are avid campers, and that is our main interest. We usually go very remote - our last trip was 4 weeks crossing the Simpson desert, and remote Northern Territory regions. Our other "hobby" is restoring/renovating our home. We've lived here 20+ years, and love our home, taking great pride in trying to maintain its historical origins, whilst injecting our own quirky style. We've hosted many international students, but this would be the first time hosting Fringe artists. We do enjoy the Fringe, and every year try to go to a few performances. We particularly enjoy comedy, and shows that are a "bit different".
