Our festival stretches from Whyalla all the way down to Mount Gamber, reaching communities far and wide. We LOVE bringing eclectic and vibrant shows to audiences all over SA, whether that's straight to their living rooms or at the local RSL, we pride ourselves on making Fringe as accessible as possible! 

  • 37% of Fringe venues in 2024 were located outside of Adelaide CBD
  • & 59 different councils areas hosted shows as a part of the 2024 Fringe program

Council Support & Offerings

Are you an Artist or Show looking for venues outside of Adelaide CBD? Perhaps you want to add on a few regional shows? We don't blame you, South Australia has so much to offer, so why not throw in a bit of sight-seeing while you can!

The City of Marion - Venue Hire & Settlement Support

[southern and western suburbs of Adelaide | approx. 25-minute drive from the Adelaide CBD]

The City of Marion is offering support to Adelaide Fringe shows held within the Marion Cultural Centre. 

If you are seeking to perform within the Marion Cultural Centre, The City of Marion will waive venue hire costs and provide 50/50 ticket split settlement after Fringe Fee’s. Adelaide Fringe registration is at the artists cost. 

To access this support, forward your EOI to mcc@marion.sa.gov.au with “Fringe 2025 EOI - Marion” in the heading. City of Marion Staff will be in contact with you. For further information contact 0476 160 682.

District Council of Kimba - Regional Venue, Accommodation & Settlement Support

[Stunning Regional Community | approx. 500kms from Adelaide]

The District Council of Kimba will waive venue hire on their three Adelaide Fringe registered venues, as well as covering the full accommodation charges (less incidentals, damages, mini bar and meal/beverage charges) for all of the shows brought to Kimba.

They will also assist with in-house printing, and are happy to cover the expenses for local advertising (Website, ATDW, Newsletter, Newspaper, social media).

Depending on the Venue Hire Agreement, they are happy for shows to receive 100% of the settlement after Fringe Fee (excluding any expenses paid directly to the artist).

City of Port Adelaide Enfield - Registration Subsidy & Promotion

[Inner north and north-western suburbs of Adelaide | approx. 30-minute drive from Adelaide CBD] 

The City of Port Adelaide Enfield (PAE) will provide a 50% subsidy for registration fees of any Adelaide Fringe exhibitions and shows held within the PAE Council area. Artists do not need to live within the City of PAE, but must deliver their exhibition or show within the council area. Shows or exhibitions that take place in the council region will be promoted on the PAE website and socials.

How do Artists access this support? When registering with Adelaide Fringe, eligible artists will need to pay 50% of their registration fee (as per the fee stated in AVR) upon connecting with a venue in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. Adelaide Fringe will then invoice the City of PAE directly for the remaining 50%. Artists can contact the Artist & Venue team on 08 8100 2022 for further clarification.

All artists receiving this registration subsidy will be required to display the City of PAE logo on any relevant printed material. Contact communications@cityofpae.sa.gov.au for the logo and conditions of use.

City of Charles Sturt - Registration Subsidy & Grants

[Western suburbs of Adelaide through to the beach | approx. 10-minute drive from Adelaide CBD] 

The City of Charles Sturt are proud to support the showcasing of international, national and local arts talent in their community. For the 2025 season they will be offering support to the first 75 shows or exhibitions registered to take place within the council area $100 off their registration fees.

Artists do not need to live within the City of Charles Sturt, but must deliver their exhibition or show within the council area.

How do Artists access this support? If your show is one of the first 75 registered within the council area on AVR, this subsidy will be automaticlly taken off of your registration fee in the cart. Artists who want more information can contact the Artist & Venue team on 08 8100 2022 for further clarification.

The City of Charles Sturt offers grants for SA-based Adelaide Fringe Artists and Producers with new shows that are set to take place within the City of Charles Sturt council area:

  • Live and Local grants (apply for up to $4000 for eligible live music projects)
  • Arts fund grants (apply for up to $5000 for eligible visual arts, performing arts, moving image, creative writing, and design projects )
  • Neighbourhood projects (apply for up to $2000 for eligible small-scale projects that collaborate, improve, and connect people to their street, public spaces, and neighbourhood)
  • Changemaker program for 12–25-year-olds (apply for up to $1000 for eligible small sale projects that can make a positive difference to your community)

City of Prospect - Subsidised Registration + 2025 Prospect Fringe EOIs & Support

[Just a hop skip and a jump!  | approx. 10-minute drive from Adelaide CBD] 

The City of Prospect Council is currently offering a subsidy of up to $200 off registration fees for Performing Arts shows AND up to $150 for Visual Arts and Design shows that take place within the council area.

Following the incredible success of their 2024 season, the Prospect Fringe and its many perks are also back for another year! Artists and Shows interested in performing at the City of Prospect run venues including:

Can apply for inclusion in the 2025 Prospect Fringe Program! Shows that take place in the 2025 Prospect Fringe willl be able to access support such as:

  • A 50% reduced venue hire fee and free post-event cleaning,
  • Services such as sound and lighting technicians,
  • Free inclusion in the Prospect Fringe Program – available online and in print, thousands of copies of this program are distributed to the local community.
  • Access to additional marketing support through the promotion of Prospect Fringe on digital, social, print supports, and through Adelaide Fringe.

Interested Artists can download an Artist Pack to learn more, or complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) Form online through the City of Prospect website.

Kangaroo Island Council - Promotion & Venue Hire Waive

[Where small townships meet fascinating wilderness | approx. 110kms south-west of Adelaide & easily accessible by ferry or plane]

Thinking about touring your Show regionally and looking for welcoming local communities? Look no further than Kangaroo Island.

Artists looking to perform their shows in the Kangaroo Island Council area can apply for the Community Sponsorship Program for full or part sponsorship assistance with fees associated with hiring Council facilities, venues & services. Artists can also expect the Kangaroo Island Council to assist in promoting local shows through their socials.

How can Artists apply for sponsorship? Interested Artists can submit an EOI through the Kangaroo Island Council website.

Please note, to receive sponsorship a show must acknowledged the Council as a sponsor. Artists can visit the website for more details or contact the council at kicouncil@kicouncil.sa.gov.au

City of West Torrens - Free Venue Hire & No Ticket Splits

[Conveniently located between the CBD and western coastline | approx. 15-20 minutes drive from the CBD, with plenty of public transport options]

A bustling Fringe region, The City of West Torrens Council is providing additional support to Artists and Shows participating in the 2025 Adelaide Fringe season.

For Artists and Shows performing in Council run venues, The City of West Torrens is offering free venue hire and ticket splits that see artists and shows receive 100% of the settlement after Fringe Fee.

City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters – Registration Subsidy

[Cosmopolitan dining and shopping precincts, parks & gardens | approx. 5 minute drive from the CBD, with plenty of public transport options]

NOTE: Registration subsidy allocation for this council has now been exhausted for 2025

The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters Council is returning to Adelaide Fringe 2025 to support participating local artists, performers, producers, events, venues and businesses with a 50% subsidy for Fringe registrations within the Council area. Subsidies are available for the first 20 registrations, so be quick!

How do Artists access this support? To access the subsidy, link your event with a venue in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters council region on AVR. If you are one of the first 20 artists to do so, your registration fee will be reduced at checkout.

Please Note - all shows that take advantage of this offer will be required to include ‘Proudly supported by the City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters’ on their marketing and promotional material. You will also need to register your show on Council’s Events Calendar here.
