As a Fringe artist, you'll sometimes need to get important information out to your audience, whether they've already bought tickets or are just Browse the programme. This guide will walk you through the best ways to communicate with your patrons and ensure they have all the details they need for a fantastic show experience. We’ve set up the Artist and Venue Registration (AVR) platform to help you do just that.

What Adelaide Fringe can and can't do
Due to stricter regulations from ISPs (Internet Service Providers) on spam, Adelaide Fringe is no longer able to send out mass emails on your behalf, with the exception of major changes or cancellations. This is a recent development, so it is more important than ever to include all necessary details, contact information, and answers to potential questions in your show listing before it goes on sale.
We've tailored the prompts in the AVR platform, from Content Warnings to Latecomer Policies and Meal & Show Dietary options, so you have plenty of dedicated fields to add everything you need right into your show listing.
Confirmation and Reminder Emails
If the information is crucial for the logistical success of your event, we may be able to add it to either your show's Booking Confirmation Email (which patrons receive immediately after buying a ticket) or the Show Reminder Email (sent 24 hours before the performance begins).
For instance, this could include a show-specific map, parking instructions, details for group bookings or parties, or even table seating arrangements for a dining event.
How to use AVR to your advantage
Show Listings and Web Content Copy
This is the main text that appears on your show page on the FringeTIX website. It’s your prime real estate for describing and selling your event to the public. Once your show listing is live, Adelaide Fringe can't notify ticket buyers of any changes you make to this copy.
We may offer suggestions during the show build process to help you get the most out of your listing. As the publisher, we do reserve the right to edit your content to ensure it is suitable for all ages, easy to navigate, and consistent across the website and Fringe guide. If we need to make any significant edits, we'll be sure to work with you to find acceptable alternatives.
Important Additional Information
Use this optional section for any information patrons need to know in order to participate in your show. For example, if you need audience members to bring along a specific item like a picnic blanket, this is the perfect spot to mention it.
Show Ticketing Notices
Rest assured, there’s a designated area to flag major changes. If your event has a significant change, such as a different date or time, a change to the lineup, or a performance cancellation, our team will add a notice here. This will then appear on your show listing, just above the performance times, so patrons can't miss it.
Meal & Show events
If you're running a meal and show event, it’s best to plan ahead and gather all the necessary information from your customers right from the get-go, rather than having to chase them down later.
Here are some important questions to consider:
- Do your dining guests need to arrive earlier than the advertised show start time?
- Do you have specific seating options or table preferences?
- Can you cater to dietary requirements like vegan, gluten-free, or FODMAP?
You can add all these details in the AVR platform. Just click on Ticketing Summary, then select "Yes" for the Food and Drink section and fill in the details. You can even upload your menu and provide contact information for any food and drink enquiries during the registration process.

Collecting dietaries, meal requests, or table arrangements is up to you! You can upload your menu and enter your contact details for Food & Drink enquiries at registration.

Latecomer Policy
Are you running an exhibition or an interactive experience where patrons can come and go? Or is your show an immersive theatre experience with a strict lockout where no latecomers are permitted? Use this section in AVR to clearly communicate your show's preferences and requirements. This is an important detail that helps manage audience expectations and ensures a smooth show for everyone.
Summary
- Communicate all important details in your AVR show listing before it goes on sale, as we can't send mass emails for minor updates.
- Use dedicated fields in AVR like Important Additional Information and Latecomer Policy to manage audience expectations and share critical details.
- For meal and show events, plan ahead and collect all dietary and seating information during registration.
- If your show has a major change, our team will add a ticketing notice to your show listing, which is the most reliable way to inform patrons.
