What Can I Apply For?
Grants are available for up to $5,000 each within two streams:
- Participate
Open to Australian and International Artists, Collectives, Producers, and Venues.
- Australian First Nations Grants
Open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Artists, Collectives, Producers, and Venues.
Please Note: Applications for funding to the First Nations grants streams must come from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander individuals, collectives, venues and organisations. More than 50% of the key creatives must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Applicants have the option of applying for multiple funding streams, but we will aim to distribute our resources to as many applicants as possible and are unlikely to fund multiple grant applications from a single individual, collective or organisation.
What Will We Fund?
You can apply for funding within one of these three categories:
-
Operational, Development & Marketing Costs
-
Artist & Audience Access
-
Regional & Remote Touring
Please Note: Applicants will need to specify what these funds will be used to cover, we will also want to see a full budget, with all costs related to your 2025 Fringe season considered. While we will only fund a single funding category, we want to see that your show is financially viable and thoroughly considered. We are looking for an overall picture of your show and how these funds will support your 2025 season.
Who Can Apply?
- South Australian, Australian and international creatives presenting an Adelaide Fringe Show
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander creatives
- Producers and programmers
- Adelaide Fringe Venues (Venues must be hosting a minimum of three shows, with a minimum of twelve sessions to be eligible)
Eligibility
-
Applicants are not eligible to apply for a 2025 Fringe Fund grant if the proposed show was a successful recipient of a 2024 Adelaide Fringe Artist Fund grant, and they are applying for the same type of funding (this does not apply to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants). If a show received funding through the 2024 Adelaide Fringe Fund grants, we will only fund Regional Touring and Artist & Audience Access for that show. However, we will not fund Regional Touring and Artist & Audience Access if this form of funding was recieved for the 2024 festival.
-
We strongly recommend that applicants ensure proposed plans are achievable and realistic. Evidence of a strong financial strategy and the inclusion of quotes or actual costings will be looked upon favourably.
-
Applications with secured project income from alternative sources are favourable.
-
Applications from South Australian emerging creatives will be prioritised in this funding round.

Mental Health Commissioner Grants
In 2024 the Mental Health Commissioner of South Australia, offered the Mental Health Commissioner's Performers Grant to facilitate the participation of a diverse range of performers and entertainments in the Adelaide Fringe Festival. This initiative was to support performances that tackle mental health themes or foster dialogue and understanding around mental health issues.
We are working collaboratively in the hope of delivering a similar program for 2025 Adelaide Fringe. Those who are applying to the initial 2025 Fringe Fund round can indicate their interest in these grants and apply within their Fringe Fund application. Find more information here.

Image Description: Dancers performing in an outdoor carpark are in mid action with their bodies in angular shapes as they dance before a pair of guitarists. A dancer in the foreground wears dark coloured clothes. Three dancers behind them wear olive green, white and beige, each in a simple pair of trousers and shirt. Red light lights up the musicians at the edges whilst in the distant backgound spectators watch the scene from their cars.
