Awesome Foundation

The Awesome Foundation is micro-philanthropy in action. Ten people contribute $100 each to make $1000 available each month to fund awesomeness. Since 2014 the Adelaide chapter has given more than $80,000 to changemakers, creatives, community organisations and individuals who want to make a difference (even if it is just to bring joy to a group of people).

Let us know what you are planning, why it's awesome and how you plan to spend the money. This grant process is designed to be as simple as possible and there are no strings attached to receiving funding. Applications for metropolitan Adelaide and surrounds are preferred, though grants have been awarded for regional projects.

Arts & Cultural Grants and Cultural Strategic Partnerships support eligible individuals and organisations to deliver creative arts and cultural projects that enable Adelaide's vision for a Creative City and contribute to the delivery of City of Adelaide's Strategic Plan.

City of Charles Sturt Grants

The City of Charles Sturt are proud to support the showcasing of international, national and local arts talent in their community. This year they are offering grants for SA-based Adelaide Fringe Artists and Producers with new shows that are set to take place within the council area during the Fringe:


Live and Local Grants
These grants support local musicians, live music venues and small businesses to host live music experiences across our City. 

Expressions of Interest for this program will be open on an ongoing basis until 1 June 2025 or until funding is exhausted. Live and Local events can occur between July 2024 and 30 June 2025. To ensure your application is assessed prior to your event, City of Charles Sturt encourages applicants to apply for funding a minimum of one (1) month prior to the event start date. Grants are available up to $4000.

Arts Fund Grants
These grants support local Artists and Arts organisations to develop new one off or time limited creative projects that encourage public engagement in the Arts. 

Expressions of Interest for this program will be open on an ongoing basis until 1 June 2025 or until funding is exhausted. Live and Local events can occur between July 2024 and 30 June 2025. To ensure your application is assessed prior to your event, City of Charles Sturt encourages applicants to apply for funding a minimum of one (1) month prior to the event start date. Grants are available up to $5000.

Neighbourhood Projects
These grants support City of Charles Sturt residents to lead and collaborate to create and deliver small scale projects to improve and connect their street, public spaces and neighbourhood. 

Expressions of Interest for this program will be open on an ongoing basis until 1 June 2025 or until funding is exhausted. Live and Local events can occur between July 2024 and 30 June 2025. Changemaker Program for 12-25 Year Olds
These grants are for eligible small sale projects that can make a positive difference to your community. Grants are available up to $1000.

Country Arts SA

Shows on the Road (GAL)

Country Arts SA’s Shows on the Road program supports a network of regional presenter groups to present high quality, professional performances in their community. It aims to increase access to the arts in smaller regional communities.

The next round opens 5 February and closes 13 December 2024 at 5pm.

Quick Response Grant - October

Quick Response Grants will fund professional development opportunities for artists and arts workers or small project opportunities. The program supports immediate need that arises where the activity is unable to be planned for or supported in other funding rounds, for example taking up professional development, skills development or small project opportunities at short notice.


The next round closes 31 October 2024 at 5pm.

Department of Premier and Cabinet 

Arts South Australia invests in artists, organisations and the community to support initiatives that demonstrate bold exploration, innovation, and lead to a vibrant ecology of new relationships and networks so that everyone can engage with arts and culture. Below are a list of some of the grants on offer - with multiple rounds throughout the year.

Independent Artists and Groups
This grant supports the development, production and presentation of new works by independent artists and groups across all art forms. Development of new work might involve periods in the studio or rehearsal room or working with other artists. 

The next round opens 18 December 2024 and closes 3 February 2025 at 5pm for activities commencing after 5 May 2025. The grant amount is to be discussed with a grants officer.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Grants - Projects
This grant supports the creative development, production and presentation of new work. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individual artists and arts and cultural workers, groups and arts and cultural organisations can apply for projects across all art forms.

The next round opens 18 December 2024 and closes 3 February 2025 at 5pm for activities commencing after 5 May 2025. The grant amount is up to $25,000.

Professional Development
This grant supports the professional development of individual, independent artists and arts workers to undertake skills development and training that is relevant to their arts practice or professional practice. 

The next round opens 18 December 2024 and closes 3 February 2025 at 5pm for activities commencing after 5 May 2025. The grant amount is up to $15,000.

Market Development
This grant supports artists and organisations to build a national and international profile through the development of relationships, networks and market opportunities. The category covers all art forms and the activity must benefit South Australian artists.

The next round opens 18 December 2024 and closes 3 February 2025 at 5pm for activities commencing after 5 May 2025. The grant amount is up to $15,000.

Fleurieu Community Foundation

Youth Arts Participation
Youth Arts Participation grants support financially disadvantaged young people who live in the Fleurieu region, to continue to be involved in arts and cultural activities.

The grants are open on a continual basis and applications are presented to monthly Board meeting.

Helpmann Grants and Fellowships

The Helpmann Academy is the only organisation of its kind in Australia. They empower South Australia’s most promising emerging creatives to realise their visions and build sustainable practices.

HA>NESS Development Grants
The HA>NESS Development Grants program is dedicated to fostering the creative and professional progression of emerging artists across various disciplines.

Recognising the challenges faced by emerging creatives, the initiative provides grants of up to $3,000 to eligible final year students and graduates. Applications close on Sunday 3 November 2024

Nexus Arts 40 for 40

40 for 40 is a quick response grant, managed by Nexus Arts, and provided for South Australian artists from First Nations or culturally and racially marginalised or culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. It enables them to apply for up to $1000 each for the purposes of creation, presentation, and development. This could include mentorship opportunities, attendance at key events, presentation outcomes, and new work creation.
