Understanding Honey Pot Delegate Types

Honey Pot's marketplace includes both In-Person and Virtual industry delegates, all eager to discover new shows and connect with artists like you.

Virtual Delegates

Virtual delegates have a Delegate Finder profile and access to Show Finder. Some virtual delegates will also have ticket access, allowing them to request tickets to registered 'Watch from Home' or 'Pre-Recorded' shows if available. They are looking to experience the Fringe from afar and are keen to find content that can travel or be viewed digitally.

In-Person Delegates

In-Person delegates are industry professionals attending the festival physically in Adelaide. The dates they plan to attend Honey Pot can be found in Delegate Finder when it opens on 16 Jan 2026. These delegates have the unique opportunity to see live performances, take part in networking sessions, and engage directly in the HIVE. They are actively seeking live shows and direct connections.

Exploring the Delegate Finder

The Delegate Finder is your essential research tool, becoming available in late-January (approximately four weeks before Fringe kicks off). This online platform uses the AVR search functions to provide you with the most current and extensive delegate listings. You can search for delegates using various criteria such as their organisation, country, and the dates they'll be attending. You can also create a 'favourites' list to help you select who to approach. For a more detailed guide on how to use this powerful tool, check out our resource: Delegate Finder: Your Honey Pot Research Tool.

Should I Make Contact with a Virtual Delegate?

Absolutely yes! Virtual delegates are strongly encouraged to use the Show Finder and Passion Pitches to discover all shows relevant to their programming interests. They are fully capable of contacting shows they are interested in to start a conversation and learn more.

It's crucial to include a Passion Pitch as part of your Honey Pot inclusion. These pitches are a fantastic way to speak directly to any delegates watching them, giving them a real sense of you and your work. While they can't physically be at your show, if you have further links, pre-recorded footage, or other relevant information to share, it's all incredibly useful. Don't assume that because they are virtual, they aren't contactable or applicable to your show.

Approach them in the same way you would an In-Person delegate. It's all about clearly articulating why you feel your show is a good fit for their show, festival, or venue. Demonstrating knowledge and an understanding of their needs will go a long way in forging meaningful connections.

Happy searching, and we hope connections and conversations blossom during this year's Honey Pot!
